The Role
The Product Marketing Manager is responsible for go-to-market success for our B2B SaaS products, serving as a strategic storyteller and internal ambassador.
In this role, you will combine market insight with executional excellence, shaping product strategy and positioning, crafting compelling narratives, and championing the voice of the customer across the organization. You will lead major new products and significant feature releases, develop segment-specific messaging, influence pricing & packaging, and spearhead competitive intelligence programs. This role requires a hands-on leader adept at cross-functional collaboration (with Product, Sales, Customer Success, etc.) and comfortable leveraging modern tools (including AI-driven content workflows) to deliver results.
Key Responsibilities
● Go-to-Market Leadership: Plan and execute go-to-market strategies for product launches, including Tier 1 launches (major new products) and Tier 2 launches (substantial feature updates). This involves creating launch plans, coordinating cross-functional teams, and managing timelines to ensure impactful releases for both big-bang launches and iterative feature rollouts.
● Positioning & Messaging: Develop and refine product positioning and messaging frameworks for our target segments. Use a data-driven approach to craft value propositions that resonate with customer segments and personas. Ensure that messaging is clear, compelling, and differentiated, focusing on our product’s unique value and how it solves customers’ pain points and market gaps.
● Storytelling & Content: Create compelling narratives that communicate product value. Collaborate with sales enablement and content marketing on, sales assets, web copy, one-pagers, case studies, and thought leadership content that tell a cohesive story. Ensure all content aligns with the core messaging and drives product adoption through a clear value story.
● Customer & Market Ambassador: Serve as the ambassador for customer and market insights. Lead our competitive intelligence program continuously monitor the landscape of competitors and alternatives, and maintain battlecards or intel briefs for Sales and Product teams. Partner with Customer Advocacy to conduct market research and gather customer feedback (through interviews, surveys, win/loss analysis) to inform product roadmap priorities and marketing strategies. Share insights across teams to ensure we remain customer-centric and ahead of market trends.
● Cross-Functional Enablement: Work closely with Sales, Implementation, and Customer Success to ensure consistent messaging and successful product rollouts. Develop targeted enablement tools (pitch decks, product FAQs, competitive comparison sheets) and train client-facing teams on new releases, segment messaging, and value proposition. Be the internal champion who ensures everyone, from execs to sales reps, understands the story and strategy of your product.
● Leverage AI Tools: Innovate and improve efficiency by incorporating AI-powered tools into your workflow. Use GPT-based platforms for tasks like brainstorming messaging variations, testing copy for tone and clarity, or accelerating content drafts. Implement AI-driven message testing (e.g. using GPT to simulate audience feedback or A/B test phrasing) to refine positioning and ensure our communications hit the mark.
● Metrics & Optimization: Define key success metrics for your product marketing initiatives (e.g. product adoption rates, feature usage, lead-to-conversion rates after launches, campaign ROI). Monitor performance post-launch and gather data insights. Use these metrics to report on outcomes and continuously refine future go-to-market approaches, balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution to drive results.
