Job description

ONE | A Potter’s House Church is a vibrant and dynamic community dedicated to making a positive impact. We are excited to announce an opening for a skilled, experienced Full-Time Senior Graphic Designer to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in bringing our creative vision to life and supporting various social media, marketing, and production needs. As a critical team member, you can shape our brand’s aesthetic, engage our audience, and contribute to impactful visual storytelling across various platforms.

Position Overview:

We’re seeking a Senior Graphic Designer with a strong creative point of view, excellent execution skills, and a deep understanding of brand storytelling across digital and physical platforms. This role will be instrumental in shaping our visual identity and bringing campaigns to life through thoughtful, trend-aware design.

We are looking for someone who (is):

  • A highly creative, proactive self-starter who brings fresh ideas, taking initiative rather than waiting for direction.

  • Can understand a brand and apply that understanding visually

  • Has experience in a fast-paced industry and tight deadlines

  • Has experience in physical and digital design

Key Responsibilities:

  • Visual Translation: Bring the vision of ONE to life across multiple platforms and mediums including digital assets to physical designs.

  • Social Media: Develop captivating cover frames, social posts, and complete carousels for social media - we’re looking for someone who understands the social media landscape

  • Production Design: Generate screens, lower thirds with QR codes, and other assets for in-service production, tailored to different ministries and announcements.

  • Email & Website Assets: Craft eye-catching emails (copy provided) with images, flyers, print materials, and weekly “snapshot” designs for recurring communications.

  • Event and Speaker Assets: Design materials for website event pages, speaker announcements, and Sunday thumbnails.

  • Video & Testimonial Content: Design lower-thirds, thumbnails, and visual components for creative or testimonial videos.

  • Website Updates: Regularly update the website with event information and message content. Familiarity with website design basics is helpful. Knowledgeable with Hubspot or a similar website design platform.

  • Campaigns & Events: Contribute to major campaigns, special services, and events, utilizing your design expertise to enhance their impact.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the creative producer and team to brainstorm and execute projects.

  • Volunteer Leadership: Lead, guide, and mentor a volunteer design team, fostering a creative and collaborative environment.

Job requirements

  • Education/Certification: High School Diploma or equivalent is required for this role. Higher education in graphic design or a related field, or certification in graphic design, is highly encouraged to strengthen foundational skills and industry knowledge.

  • Senior-Level Roles: 5+ years of experience, including leadership or mentoring experience, and a portfolio showing high-impact work across multiple mediums (digital, print, etc.).

  • Software Training: Familiarity with industry-standard design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) is typically expected, and knowledge of tools like Figma, Sketch, or Canva may also be beneficial.

  • Proficiency in HubSpot (or similar email marketing and CRM platform): Ability to effectively utilize HubSpot or equivalent platforms such as Mailchimp, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or Marketo to create, schedule, and manage email campaigns.

  • Experience in the specific industry (church, non-profit, community-based, or similar.) can be advantageous, particularly for roles requiring brand consistency or audience-specific knowledge

  • Experience in Asana (our Project Management System): Proficiency in using Asana, or similar project management tools (such as Trello, Monday.com, or Jira), to effectively organize, track, and manage tasks and projects.

  • Design Proficiency and Creativity: Familiarity with current design trends and best practices, along with a strong attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics. Able to take direction and feedback constructively while contributing original, creative ideas.

  • Project Management and Collaboration: Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and deadlines.
