Practice and Role Overview:

Ankura's Disputes & Economics, Economics and Data Science practice comprises expert Economists, Data Scientists, Statisticians, and support staff that provide expert testimony and analytic analysis for legal and regulatory matters. The team works across several industries, including healthcare, banking, financial services, manufacturing, and energy, and in many types of litigation, including commercial disputes, antitrust matters, class actions, and labor disputes. IN this role Ankura’s experts, supported by highly credentialed staff, testify before federal and state courts and regulators, and before arbitration panels.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The ideal Senior Director candidate will have knowledge and experience in the theory and application of economics, and in quantitative and statistical analysis, and will have exemplary project management abilities. The candidate must demonstrate sound judgement, professionalism, emotional maturity, focus, organizational skills, and must be able to work independently on multiple conflicting priorities. We are seeking someone who is energetic and personable, with exceptional follow‐up and initiative. Candidate will be a team player who can juggle a wide range of tasks and activities, and who will collaborate with colleagues and other practices within Ankura. Flexible and overtime hours will be required and can be unpredictable at times.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary duties of the Senior Director include project management, development of expert testimony and reports, and quantitative and qualitative analysis.  Other roles may include:    

  • Lead project teams in preparing expert analysis and testimony.

  • Interface with clients throughout all phases of consulting engagements.

  • Demonstrate exceptional leadership capabilities through the mentorship and development of less-senior colleagues.

  • Encourage relationship building by participating in the firm’s activities and initiatives.

  • Participate in business development efforts by assisting in the acquisition of new clients and developing new consulting opportunities.

  • Manage the invoicing process, including collections, for consulting engagements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters in economics or business/finance.

  • Minimum of 10 years’ relevant business or consulting experience, including responsibilities of consulting team management and oversight.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in litigation consulting.

  • Case management experience in international arbitration, class actions or other complex commercial litigation preferred.

  • Proficiency in data analysis and statistical or econometric software.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in California, Colorado, or New York, Ankura is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the said markets and considers a broad range of factors including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  The range does not include additional benefits outside of salary. At Ankura, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each role. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range is between $110,000 to $240,000; this range is not a promise of a particular wage.
