The Director of Email Marketing will oversee the development, execution, and optimization of PragerU's email marketing programs. This individual will play a critical role in audience growth, donor engagement, and content distribution, ensuring our messaging reaches and resonates with millions of subscribers. The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and a hands-on leader with expertise in campaign management, automation, segmentation, deliverability, and analytics.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic development of PragerU's email marketing programs to support organizational goals, including audience growth, retention, donations, and content promotion
  • Manage email interface system (Iterable), including full delivery schedule and technical management of interface to oversee both the general PragerU and PragerU Kids email schedule
  • Oversee campaigns reaching an audience of millions of active subscribers
  • Develop and execute email marketing and SMS marketing campaign plans
  • Collaborate with paid media, content, and partnerships teams to drive high-quality email and SMS list acquisition. Consistently monitor and optimize campaigns based on best practices, A/B Testing, trends, etc
  • Track and report on metrics for current email marketing/SMS campaigns
  • Ensure the marketing message is conveyed clearly and delivered properly to recipients
  • Work to understand and improve email deliverability and technical capability to manage the health of our contact lists and the reputation of our domain
  • Manage content creation of email products, including establishing and evolving best practices
  • Develop and optimize lifecycle communication journeys to engage, retain, and reactivate audiences
  • Leverage marketing technology to automate campaigns where possible while applying customization and personalization
  • Ensure compliance with email and SMS regulations (CAN-SPAM, TCPA), maintaining sender reputation and adhering to deliverability best practices
  • Lead, manage and mentor one direct report
  • Other duties as assigned

Successful Candidates Will Possess:

  • 5-7+ years of experience in email marketing with at least 3 years in a leadership or director-level role
  • Must have expertise in direct email marketing and SMS practices
  • Deep understanding of segmentation, automation, deliverability, A/B testing, and audience engagement strategies
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and HTML, ability to learn technical systems and in-house tools quickly
  • Experience with subscription/membership business models strongly preferred
  • Highly analytical and data-driven
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience leading and mentoring high-performing teams
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and decision-making abilities, including goals and projection setting, and a proven ability to navigate ambiguity and change
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment

Salary Range: The salary target for this role is $110,000 - $150,000. Final offer amounts depend on multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, and most recent market data. This position is eligible for an annual bonus based on personal and company performance, in addition to our robust benefits package.
