About the Position
The Trade and Marketing Executive will support and assist with the implementation of cooperative partnership marketing and consumer direct marketing, trade and PR campaigns as well as the coordination and execution of trade engagement and immersion programs, useful industry reports, and trade education for the North American market. The role also provides administration support in the day-to-day operation of the office including PR, trade and marketing campaign reporting and basic account and contract tracking functions.
Partnering with our stakeholders under the direction of the Regional Manager, Americas you will:
• Provide support in developing and implementing Visit Victoria’s plans focused on consumer and trade campaigns and activities for the Americas markets.
• Monitor and analyse the North America tourism market and provide market intelligence and reports to assist internal and Victorian industry partners in the strategic planning and penetration into the region.
• Identify, establish and maintain effective working relationships and networks with key travel trade partners, Tourism Australia, airlines and emerging travel channels to provide exposure and bookable Victorian content in-market.
• Initiate, plan, develop, and where relevant, escort effective industry programs to increase destination and product awareness including in-person and virtual training, organizing industry workshops, managing CRM and digital marketing communications, and coordinating trade missions and events.
• Support PR, trade and consumer campaigns by coordinating and delivering relevant content and creative approvals, tracking campaign/PR activity results and learnings, and providing final marketing, PR and trade reports
• Provide administrative support and budget tracking as needed.
About you
As the ideal candidate you will possess solid marketing and sales experience preferably with a background in tourism. You are knowledgeable and passionate about the Australian and North American industry with an understanding of the State of Victoria’s tourism offering. You can work autonomously, have a good understanding of the North American tourism community and can work across a broad range of responsibilities at an effective level.
You also bring demonstrated experience in the following:
• A proven record of achievement in managing and implementing a full range of B2B and B2C marketing plans and/or partnership programs across multiple channels (including digital), preferably in the tourism industry.
• Demonstrated understanding of the principles and practices of marketing and delivering marketing and partnership campaigns, including in conjunction with agencies and/or partners.
• Experience in stakeholder management and building relationships with key accounts for mutual benefit.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present, gain cooperation and undertake negotiations.
• Experience in the preparation of written reports, presentations and recommendations.
• Understanding of the North American and Victorian tourism industry including relevant Victoria product and experiences for the Americas market.
• Experience in providing a full range of office support including administration, working with finance and legal teams, and budget tracking (where relevant).
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, campaign management platforms, Salesforce/Marketing Cloud and social media channels.
• Ability to conduct research, analyse data and prepare high quality reports
• This position has a requirement to work out of hours, and it will involve evening or weekend work including occasional international travel.
• The successful candidate will require the legal right to work in the United States.
